Amanda Arpé was named Assistant Director of Athetlics at Simmons in January 2016. She has also directed Simmons Field Hockey since 2010 as Head Coach.  Arpé has also served as the school's Head Lacrosse Coach in two different stints.

Arpé has directed Simmons Field Hockey for eight seasons and has established herself as the most successful field hockey mentor in school history.

She has enjoyed unprecedented success over the past five seasons, guiding the Sharks to a 62-34 (.646) mark during that time. She has earned conference Coach of the Year honors twice and captured the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship in two of the last four seasons. The 2014 crown marked the first NCAA Championship Tournament berth for Simmons field hockey in school history. She has seen 22 players earn All-Conference accolades, including 11 First Teamers under her watch since Simmons joined the GNAC in 2014.

Arpé's teams have also established themselves as the top defensive units in the nation. The Sharks led NCAA Division III in shutouts per match in 2015, while ranking third in goals against average.

As a testament to the quality of players she has recruited, the Sharks have boasted a pair of Conference Offensive Player and Defensive Player of the Year recipients in addition to a trio of Rookie of the Year awards as well as five All-Region honorees in the past four seasons.

In 2013, Arpé became the program's all-time leader in coaching victories, while posting a 12-8 record for the team's highest win total in eight seasons.  She was also named the North Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year after posting the best one-year won-loss turnaround in school history.  The Simmons mentor saw four players earn NAC All-Conference honors, while featuring the league's Rookie of the Year.

Under Arpé's guidance, the field hockey squad has advanced to post season play in each of her eight seasons.

Arpé joined the Simmons Athletics staff after spending a year as Head Field Hockey and Lacrosse Coach at Mashpee High School. She also had a one-year stint on the sidelines as the Assistant Lacrosse coach at Archbishop Williams High School.  While at Mashpee, Arpé led the field hockey team to a 10-3-5 record and an appearance in the South Division II tournament, while producing four South Shore All Stars. In addition, Arpé coached the lacrosse team to a 7-6 mark, the first winning season in the program’s history.

Before coaching high school, Arpé spent five years as the Assistant Field Hockey Coach at NCAA Division II Stonehill College, helping the Skyhawks to a 51-14 record in her final three seasons. While at Stonehill, Arpé’s responsibilities included the planning of team practices, goalkeeper coaching responsibilities, game management, strength and conditioning and recruiting and scouting.

Arpé has coached several camps and clinics in the northeast. She was the Assistant Director of Stonehill’s Ultimate Field Hockey Camp, and assisted at Springfield College’s YES Clinic and the East West Field Hockey Camps at Keene State.

She also led the Simmons lacrosse team as the program's Head Coach for four seasons from 2011-14 and compiled a 32-26 record, while leading the Sharks to four straight playoff berths and an appearance in the 2013 GNAC Championship game.

Arpé is a 2003 graduate of Hobart & William Smith Colleges where she earned her B.A. in American Studies. She was a four-year member of the varsity field hockey team that won the 2000 Division III National Championship.
