Courtney Dawson, MD

Dr. Dawson is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the care
and treatment of sports medicine, knee, and shoulder injuries. Dr.
Dawson's special interests include the treatment of shoulder
instability and labral tears, rotator cuff tears, shoulder
arthritis, knee pain, ACL tears, meniscus tears, fracture care, and
sports medicine injuries in athletes of all ages. She is especially
interested in the specialized care of the female athlete.

Education and Training
Dr. Dawson grew up in California and graduated from UCLA where she was a student athletic trainer. She attended medical school at the Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, PA. Dr. Dawson came to Boston to complete her residency training in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program serving as Chief Resident at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. During her time in New York, Dr. Dawson served as assistant team physician for the New York Mets baseball club and St. Peter's College. She also served as an orthopaedic consultant for the U.S. Open Tennis Championships.
