    LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Seven Simmons College softball players were named Scholar Athletes by Easton and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for the 2015-16 academic year, while the Sharks as a team were recognized as an All-Academic Team.
  • Caracciolo, White Named to GNAC Softball All-Conference Team

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College softball player Mikaela Caracciolo (North Attleboro, Mass.) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference First Team, while Heather White (Westfield, Mass.) was voted to the GNAC All-Conference Third Team, it was announced today by the league.
  • Softball Swept by Mount Ida on Senior Day, 3-2, 1-0

    NEWTON, Mass. – Simmons College softball allowed just four runs in Great Northeast Athletic Conference doubleheader action this afternoon, but fell to visiting Mount Ida College in both games, losing the first in eight innings, 3-2, before being edged 1-0 in the nightcap on the Mount Ida campus in Newton, Mass. The Sharks finish their season with an overall record of 13-20, including 7-15 in league play, while the pair of wins thrust the Mustangs into the GNAC Tournament, capturing the number eight seed. Mount Ida has won five straight games to improve to 13-21 overall and 9-13 in league play.

    BOSTON, Mass. – First year third baseman Taylor LeBrun (Milford, Mass.) and senior center fielder Heather White (Westfield, Mass.) each hit a two-run home run to lead the Simmons College softball team to a game two, 4-2 victory over visiting Emmanuel College to gain a doubleheader split after the Saints won the first game, 8-6, this evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Roberto Clemente Field in Boston, Mass. The Sharks are now 13-18 overall and 7-13 in league play, while Emmanuel is 21-14 and 13-7. The victory for the Saints sets a single-season record for team victories, surpassing last year’s mark of 20.

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - First year third baseman Taylor LeBrun (Milford, Mass.) doubled and homered to lead the Simmons College softball team in a doubleheader sweep by host Johnson & Wales University, 9-2, 12-4, this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at the SMG Athletic Complex in Providence, R.I. The Sharks fall to 12-17 overall and 6-12 in league play, while the Wildcats win their eighth straight game to improve to 26-7 and 14-4.

    NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Simmons College softball team dropped game one of a Great Northeast Athletic Conference doubleheader to host Albertus Magnus College, 5-3, before rebounding to win game two, 3-2, this afternoon at Celentano Field in New Haven, Conn. The Sharks are not 12-15 overall and 6-10 in league play, while the Falcons are 18-10, 9-7.

    EAST BOSTON, Mass. - The Simmons College softball team rallied to tie game one in the seventh, but fell in the eighth inning to visiting Suffolk University, before losing game two as well, 10-0, today in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play at Memorial Stadium in East Boston. The Sharks fall to 11-14 overall and 5-9 in league play, while the Rams extend their win streak to four straight and improve to 20-6 and 11-3.

    AUBURNDALE, Mass. – Senior shortstop Mikaela Caracciolo (North Attleboro, Mass.) was 5-7 on the day and first year hurler Tori Gomes (Taunton, Mass.) allowed just one run in game two to lead the Simmons College softball team in a doubleheader split with visiting Rivier University this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. The Raiders took the first game on Taylor Field, 10-6, before the Sharks won the nightcap, 7-1, in Auburndale, Mass. Simmons is now 11-12 overall and 5-7 in league play, while Rivier is 8-14 and 3-9.

The Sharks are now 10-11 overall and 4-6 in league play, while he AMCATS are 3-20 and 1-9.

The Sharks improve to 9-10 overall and 3-5 in league play, while the Lasers fall to 5-13 and 2-6.

    BOSTON, Mass. – First year third baseman Dominique Ortiz (Lawrence, Mass.) collected three hits, including a home run and knocked in three runs to lead the Simmons College softball team in a double-header split with visiting Saint Joseph’s College (Maine) this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action that was played at University of Massachusetts Boston in Dorchester, Mass. The Sharks won the opener, 7-1 before being edged in the second contest, 2-1. Simmons is now 7-10 overall and 1-5 in league play, while the Monks are 11-11 and 6-4.

    NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Senior center fielder Heather White (Westfield, Mass.) collected her 100th career hit for the Simmons College softball team, but the Sharks were swept by host University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), dropping the first game, 3-2, before losing the second contest 5-3 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action this afternoon at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Conn. Simmons falls to 6-9 overall and 0-4 in GNAC play, while the Blue Jays win their 11th straight game to improve to 16-4 and 6-0.

The Sharks improve to 6-5 on the season, while the Leopards fall to 4-9.

The Sharks fall to 4-4 on the season, while the Engineers improve to 6-2.

    WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Senior left fielder Alyssa Leonard (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) tripled and knocked in five runs to lead the Wheaton College (Ill.) softball team over Simmons College, 12-1, in five innings this afternoon at the 2016 Spring Games in Winter Garden, Fla. at Foundation Academy Field 4. The Thunder improve to 7-3 on the season, while the Sharks fall to 3-2. The game was halted after five innings due to the NCAA’s eight-run mercy rule.
