Title: Assistant Basketball Coach

Sandy Metellus enters her first year as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach for the 2017-18. 

Prior to joining the Sharks' staff, Metellus worked with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology men’s basketball team for two seasons as their Director of Basketball Operations, where she was involved in all aspects of the program. She worked directly with the coaching staff, players, and staff members in the athletic department. Some of her responsibilities included; leading campus tours with prospective student athletes, performing statistical analysis at practices, participating in all practice and game preparation, processing expense reports, organizing recruiting schedules, setting up visits with prospects, managing film exchange, coordinating summer camp, overseeing the program’s student manager, and making sure that all team-related functions were accomplished in a timely manner. 

Metellus is a 2015 graduate of Colby-Sawyer College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport Management and a certificate in coaching. She was a member of the Chargers' basketball team as well. Metellus is currently pursuing her Masters in Sport Leadership at Lasell College. She also coaches with Mass Elite AAU Basketball during the spring and spends her summers working various basketball camps. 

Metellus, is very excited to be a part of Simmons Women’s Basketball program and is eager to assist Coach Williams in taking the program to the next level.
