    GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Simmons College women's lacrosse team was named a 2016 Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and Zag Sports, it was announced by the organization.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women’s lacrosse players Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) and Lauren Williams (Bowdoinham, Maine) were both named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Second Team, while Elena Bragg (Belmont, Mass.) and Ashley Sheehan (North Attleboro, Mass.) were named Third Team All-Conference, it was announced by the league today. Simmons was just one of two teams in the league to boast a pair of first years on the All-Conference team.

    WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Sophomore attacker Kasey Fries (Bridgewater, Mass.) tallied five points, including four goals to lead the Simmons College women’s lacrosse team to a 13-8 victory over host University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. The Sharks improve to 8-8 overall following their regular-season finale and are 5-4 in league play, while the Blue Jays fall to 4-11 and 1-8. Simmons earned the number five seed and will take on fourth-seeded Lasell College in the first round of the GNAC Tournament on Tuesday, May 3 at 3:00 p.m. on the campus of Lasell.

The Sharks improve to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in league play, while the Cadets fall to 6-8 and 3-5.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Senior midfielder Alexia Malone Oliver (Bristol, R.I.) tallied a career-high seven points, including three goals as one of 11 scorers for the Simmons College women’s lacrosse team in a 22-2 victory over visiting Albertus Magnus College this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match on Winsor Field in Boston, Mass. The Sharks improve to 6-8 overall and 3-4 in league play, while the Falcons fall to 1-10 and 0-7.

The Sharks fall to 5-8 overall and 2-4 in GNAC play, while the Lasers improve to 8-5 and 4-2.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women’s lacrosse player Kenzie Rogers (Bourne, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalie of the Week for the week of April 4-10, it was announced today by the league. Rogers also earned the honor for the week of February 29 to March 6 and is one of two netminders in the conference to be named twice this season.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College women’s lacrosse player Missie Maiewski (Northampton, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league today. The award marks the second time this season that the Sharks have been honored with the league’s top weekly rookie accolade. First year Elena Bragg (Belmont, Mass.) was chosen for the week of March 14-20.

The Sharks fall to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in league play, while the Monks improve to 9-2 and 3-0.

The Sharks fall to 1-2 on the season, while the the Pioneers earn their first win of the year to improve to 1-2 as well.

    BOSTON, Mass. – First year midfielder Analise Giarrusso (Hingham, Mass.) tallied her first three collegiate goals to lead the Simmons College women’s lacrosse team to a 7-5 victory over visiting Manhattanville College this afternoon at Winsor Field in Boston, Mass. in the season opener for both teams. The Sharks improve to 1-0 on the season, while the Valiants fall to 0-1. The victory was also the first for Simmons Head Coach Taylor Bastien, who is in her first year with the Sharks.
