  • Swimming & Diving to Compete at ECAC Open Championship

    BOSTON, Mass. -- For the fourth consecutive year, the Simmons College women's swimming & diving team will compete at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Open Championship, hosted by Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J. at the Rutgers Aquatics Center from February 23-25.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for the week of February 12-18, it was announced today by the league.

    KINGSTON, R.I. -- Senior Natalie Giraldi (Bedford, N.H.) and first year Anna Leedham (Lowell, Mass.) each broke a school record and the Simmons College women's swimming & diving team saw 12 swimmers advance to the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association Championship Final following the preliminaries on Day Four this morning at the Tootell Aquatics Center on the campus of host University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I.

    KINGSTON, R.I. -- Sophomore Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) broke her third meet and school record in as many days and was named the Swimmer of the Meet in leading the Simmons College women's swimming & diving team to its first-ever New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association Championship this evening at the Tootell Aquatics Center on the campus of host University of Rhode Island in Kingston, R.I.

    SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- Junior Laura Simpson (Perkiomenville, Pa.) on all three events that she entered to lead the Simmons College women's swimming & diving team to a 212-88 victory over host Mount Holyoke College this afternoon in South Hadley, Mass. The Sharks finish their dual-meet season with an 11-2 record, while the Lyons fall to 2-7.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Maria Soraghan (East Hampstead, N.H.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week for the week of January 15-21, it was announced today by the league. 
  • Swimming & Diving Defeats St. Joseph's (Maine) (211.5-40.5) and Western New England (199-62)

    STANDISH, Maine - The Simmons College women's swimming & diving team won all 14 events in a double-dual meet sweep over host Saint Joseph's College (Maine), 211.5-40.5, and Western New England University, 199-62, this afternoon in Standish, Maine. The Sharks have beaten seven straight opponents and improve to 10-2 on the season to finish with double-digit victories for the fifth straight year. Western New England defeated Saint Joseph's, 169-75, and is now 4-4 on the year, while Saint Joseph's falls to 3-9.
  • Bartlett Named GNAC Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Elizabeth Bartlett (Richmond, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week for the week of January 8-14, it was announced today by the league. 
  • Swimming & Diving Sweeps Regis (Mass.) (209-83) and Colby-Sawyer (233-35)

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons College women’s swimming & diving team won 13 of 16 events outright and took the top three spots in five events to earn a sweep over visiting Regis (Mass.), 209-83, and Colby-Sawyer College, 233-35, this morning at the Holmes Sports Center Natatorium in Boston, Mass. The Regis men scored a 133-63 victory over Colby-Sawyer, while the women earned a 180-64 win over Colby-Sawyer. The Sharks improve to 8-2 on the season, while Regis women are now 4-4 and the Colby-Sawyer women fall to 5-6. The Regis men improve to 3-3 and Colby-Sawyer dips to 0-7.

    PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- Sophomore Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) and senior Natalie Giraldi (Bedford, N.H.) each won a pair of events, including a pool-record from Scholand to lead the Simmons College women's swimming & diving team over host Plymouth State University, 213-72, this afternoon in Plymouth, N.H. The Sharks improve to 6-2 on the season, while the Panthers fall to  1-5.
  • Swimming & Diving Earns 14th Straight GNAC Championship

    BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons College women’s swimming & diving team won its 14th straight Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship and the Norwich University men won the inaugural GNAC crown this evening at the Holmes Sports Center Natatorium on the campus of host Simmons in Boston, Mass. The Sharks have also won the GNAC title in 15 of the last 16 seasons.

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) and senior Michaela Morris (Duxbury, Mass.) each captured a pair of first place finishes to lead the Simmons College women’s swimming & diving team on Day One of the 2017 Women’s Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championship. The Sharks lead the women's title meet, while Norwich University leads the Men’s Championship Meet after the first day of competition at the Holmes Sports Center Natatorium on the campus of host Simmons in Boston, Mass. 
  • Summers Named GNAC Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Haley Summers (Hudson, N.H.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week for the week of November 13-19, it was announced today by the league. She is the second Shark this season to have been named the GNAC’s top weekly rookie with classmate Maria Soraghan (East Hampstead, N.H.) earning the honor for the weeks of October 23-29 and November 6-12. 
  • Erichsen Scores 27 Points to help Lead Swimming & Diving over University of New England, 216-72

    BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Jason Erichsen (Banks, Ore.) won three individual events for the second straight week to lead the Simmons College women’s swimming & diving team to a 216-72 victory over visiting University of New England this afternoon at the Holmes Sports Center in Boston, Mass. The Sharks improve to 5-2 on the season, while the Nor’Easters fall to 3-2.

    BOSTON, Mass. - The Simmons College women's swimming & diving team joined thousands of student-athletes from collegiate, high school, and club teams across the nation and abroad to celebrate the 12th Annual Ted Mullin "Leave it in the Pool" Hour of Power Relay for Sarcoma Research, sponsored by Carleton College swimming and diving teams.

Soraghan also earned the award for the week of October 23-29. 
  • Erichsen Named GNAC Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week Again

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons College’s Jason Erichsen (Banks, Ore.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for the week of November 6-12, it was announced today by the league. Erichsen earns the award for a conference-high second time after earning the honor for the week of October 23-29. The Sharks also saw sophomore Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) receive the accolade for the week of October 16-22.
