    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Kerry Fleming (Northampton, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for the week of January 7-13, it was announced today by the league.

    WESTON, Mass. -- The Simmons University women's swimming & diving team swept a double-dual meet this afternoon, defeating host Regis (Mass.), 189-107, and Colby-Sawyer College, 226-51, this afternoon at the Regis Aquatics Center in Weston, Mass. The Sharks improve to 9-2 on the season, while Regis is 6-3 and Colby-Sawyer falls to 1-9.

  • Scholand Leads Swimming & Diving on First Day of MIT Winter Invitational; Sharks Stand in Fourth

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Junior Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) won the 1650-yard freestyle and helped the Simmons University 800-yard freestyle relay team to a third-place finish with a school-record time on Day One of the MIT Swimming & Diving Winter Invitational at the Al '51 and Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center Pool in Cambridge, Mass. The Sharks scored 106 points to place fourth, just one point behind Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Tufts University tallied 256 points to lead the meet after the opening day, while Massachusetts Institute of Technology racked up 233 points to stand second overall.
  • Manjikian Sets School Record, Leads Swimming & Diving over University of New England, 248-46

    BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Sara Manjikian (Belmont, Mass.) won both diving events and set a school record on the three-meter board to lead the Simmons University women’s swimming & diving team to a 248-46 victory over visiting University of New England this afternoon at the Holmes Sports Center Natatorium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks improve to 7-2 on the season, while the Nor’easters fall to fall to 2-3.

    BOSTON, Mass. - The Simmons College women's swimming & diving team joined thousands of student-athletes from collegiate, high school, and club teams across the nation and abroad to celebrate the 12th Annual Ted Mullin "Leave it in the Pool" Hour of Power Relay for Sarcoma Research, sponsored by Carleton College swimming and diving teams.

    WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Junior Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) won all three events she entered and sophomore Sara Manjikian (Belmont, Mass.) won both diving events to lead the Simmons University swimming & diving team in a 165-135 loss to host Wellesley College this afternoon at Chandler Pool in Wellesley, Mass. The Sharks fall to 6-2 on the season, while the Blue improve to 2-0.

  • Scholand Leads Swimming & Diving at WPI Invitational; Sharks Defeat Brandeis, Babson, Smith

    WORCESTER, Mass. -- Junior Aine Scholand (Albuquerque, N.M.) won all three individual events she entered to lead the Simmons University women's swimming & diving team to three wins at the WPI Invitational this evening at the WPI Sports and Recreation Center on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass. The Sharks earned dual meet victories over Brandeis University (159.5-134.5), Smith College (212.5-87.5) and Babson College (232-62), but were defeated by host WPI (165-135). Simmons improves to 6-1 on the season.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Jason Erichsen (Banks, Ore.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for the week of October 22-28, it was announced today by the league. 
  • Erichsen Leads Swimming & Diving to Double-Dual Sweep over Elms (239-51) and Gordon (243-42)

    BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Jason Erichsen (Banks, Ore.) won three individual events and helped win a relay race to lead the Simmons University women’s swimming & diving team to a sweep in a double-dual meet over Elms College (239-51) and Gordon College (243-42) this afternoon at the Holmes Sports Center Natatorium in Boston, Mass. The Elms women defeated Gordon, 152-94, while the Elms men downed Gordon, 113-101. The Sharks improve to 3-0 on the season, while Gordon’s women falls to 0-2 and the men are now 0-1. Elms’ women’s team is now 1-1, while the men are 1-0.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University’s Laura Simpson (Perkiomenville, Mass.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for the week of October 15-21, it was announced today by the league.

    WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Senior Kerry Fleming (Northampton, Mass.) scored 22 points, including a pair of first-place finishes to lead the Simmons University women's swimming & diving team to a 164-132 victory in its season opening dual meet over host Westfield State University this afternoon in Westfield, Mass. The Sharks improve to 1-0 on the season.
