BOSTON, Mass. -- The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced the 2013 Women's Tennis Championship Bracket featuring six teams including defending champions, the Simmons College Sharks. After going a perfect 6-0 in GNAC play this fall, Simmons has earned the #1 seed and a first round bye in this week's tournament play. Also earning a bye is the #2 seed, Johnson & Wales who posted a 5-1 record in GNAC action.
On the other side of the bracket, #3 Suffolk University will host #6 Albertus Magnus before the winner will travel to Johnson & Wales for the other semifinal match.
The Sharks, who went undefeated in the conference this year, have now won 56 consecutive GNAC matches, dating back to 2007.
Simmons will host its semifinal match on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1:00 p.m. versus the winner of #4 Anna Maria AMCATS/#5 University of Saint Joseph Blue Jays, with the GNAC Championship taking place on Sunday, Oct. 27 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
