  • Weeg Leads Volleyball, Notches 1,000th Career Kill in Tri-Match Sweep over Norwich (3-2) and Albertus Magnus (3-0)

    NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- Junior outside hitter Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) smashed 38 kills, including her 1,000th career kill, to lead the Simmons University women's volleyball team to victories over host Norwich University (3-2; 25-23, 18-25, 21-25, 25-10, 15-4) and Albertus Magnus College (3-0; 25-8, 25-11, 25-15) this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Andrews Gymnasium in Northfield, Vt. The Sharks improve to 13-6 overall, including 6-1 in league action, while Norwich is now 11-7 and 4-2 and Albertus Magnus falls to 7-14 and 0-5.
  • Iannantuono Leads Volleyball in 3-1 Loss at Wheaton (Mass.)

    NORTON, Mass. -- First year outside hitter Sydney Iannantuono (East Lyme, Conn.) put away 13 kills to lead the Simmons University women's volleyball team in a 3-1 (11-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-16) loss to host Wheaton College (Mass.) this evening at Emerson Gymnasium in Norton, Mass. The Sharks fall to 11-6 on the season, while the Lyons have won three of their last four to improve to 14-8.
  • Purser Leads Volleyball Over Rivier, 3-0

    BOSTON, Mass. – Junior middle blocker Megan Purser (Miami, Fla.) smashed eight kills on a .438 hitting mark to lead the Simmons University women’s volleyball team over visiting Rivier University, 3-0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-20), in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match this evening at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks have won nine of their last 11 matches and improve to 11-5 overall, including 5-1 in league play, while the Raiders fall to 13-4 and 2-1. 
  • Lloyd, Iannantuono Lead Volleyball over Saint Joseph (Conn.), 3-1

    WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- First year outside hitter Sydney Iannantuono (East Lyme, Conn.) (13) and sophomore middle blocker Krissy Lloyd (Tampa, Fla.) (12) combined for 25 kills to lead the Simmons University women's volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-13, 25-13, 27-29, 26-24) victory over host University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) this afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match in West Hartford, Conn. The Sharks have won four of their last five and eight of their last 10 to improve to 10-5 on the season, including 4-1 in league play, while the Blue Jays fall to 6-8 and 0-5.
  • Volleyball Falls at No. 15 Johnson & Wales, 3-0

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Simmons University women's volleyball team was defeated in three sets by number 15 Johnson & Wales University, 25-22, 25-22, 25-20, this evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at the Wildcat Center in Providence, R.I. The Sharks win streak comes to an end at three straight as they fall to 9-5 overall and suffer their first conference loss to dip to 3-1. The Wildcats, who are ranked nationally by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, improve to 12-3 and a perfect 3-0 in the GNAC.

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University women’s volleyball player Morgan Lauvray (Murrieta, Calif.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Libero of the Week for the week of September 23-29, it was announced today by the league. 
  • Volleyball Serves for 19 Aces to Defeat Colby-Sawyer, 3-1

    NEW LONDON, N.H. -- Junior outside hitter Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) put down 13 kills and the Simmons University women's volleyball team fired 19 aces in a 3-1 (25-13, 25-20, 20-25, 25-14) victory over host Colby-Sawyer College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action this afternoon at the Hogan Sports Center in New London, N.H. The Sharks win their third in a row and seventh of their last eight to improve to 9-4 overall for their best start since going 11-2 to begin the 2011 campaign. Simmons is also a perfect 3-0 in league play, while the Chargers fall to 8-10 and 1-2. 
  • Lauvray Named GNAC Women's Volleyball Libero of the Week

    WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University women’s volleyball player Morgan Lauvray (Murrieta, Calif.) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Libero of the Week for the week of September 16-22, it was announced today by the league. Lauvray becomes the first Shark to earn the award since teammate Julia Fusco (Beverly, Mass.) was honored for the week of October 9-15, 2017. 
  • Weeg, Gray-Williams Fuel Volleyball to GNAC Tri-Match Sweep over Lasell (3-0) and Regis (3-0)

    BOSTON, Mass. – Junior outside hitter Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) spiked for 29 kills and junior setter Faith Gray-Williams (Las Vegas, Nev.) averaged 11.8 assists to lead the Simmons University women’s volleyball team in a sweep over visiting Lasell University (3-0; 25-23, 25-16, 25-20) and Regis College (Mass.) (3-0; 25-3, 25-20, 25-14) this afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. Lasell came away with a 3-2 (25-22, 10-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12) victory over Regis in the afternoon’s middle match. The Sharks have won eight of their last 10 matches and improve to 8-4 overall, including 2-0 in league play, while the Lasers are now 4-8 and 2-2 and the Pride fall to 3-9 and 0-2.

    BOSTON, Mass. -- The Simmons University women's volleyball team was defeated by visiting 21st-ranked Babson College, 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-14), this evening at Moore Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. The Sharks’ four-match win streak comes to an end as they fall to 6-4 on the season, while the Beavers, who are ranked in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association national poll, improve to a perfect 9-0.

    HARTFORD, Conn. -- Junior outside hitter Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) put down a total of 29 kills to lead the Simmons University women's volleyball team to a tri-match sweep over host Trinity College (Conn.), 3-1, and University of Southern Maine (3-0) this today at Oosting Gymnasium in Hartford, Conn. The Sharks extend their win streak to four straight, while the Bantams fall to 3-3 and the Huskies slip to 3-5.

    WENHAM, Mass. -- Junior defensive specialist Julia Fusco (Beverly, Mass.) fired a career-high eight aces and classmate Morgan Weeg (Goodyear, Ariz.) put down a match-high 15 kills to lead the Simmons University women's volleyball team over host Gordon College, 3-1, this evening at the Bennett Center in Wenham, Mass. The Sharks improve to 4-3 on the season, while the Fighting Scots fall to 4-4.

The Sharks improve to 3-3 on the season, while the Beacons fall to 1-6.

    MORRISVILLE, N.Y. -- The Simmons University women's volleyball team won the first two sets, 25-21, 25-23, but were unable to close out the match, falling in the final three frames, 25-19, 25-23, 15-12, in a 3-2  loss to host Morrisville State College at the Morrisville State College Tournament this afternoon at the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities. The Sharks fall to 0-1 in the season opener, while the Mustangs improve to 1-0.

Stewart Center for Student Activities in Morrisville, N.Y. The Sharks fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Golden Tornadoes improve to 2-0.
