Maddie Distelrath

Maddie Distelrath begins her first year as an assistant track & field coach at Simmons in 2024-2025.
 
During the 2024-2025 indoor season, her first with the Sharks, Distelrath coached Agnessa Lysenko to the fifth-best mark in the conference in the weight throw. She also coached two throwers to top-21 conference rankings in the shot put.
 
Distelrath comes to Simmons after three years as an assistant coach with the Winsor School, primarily coaching the throwing events. Under Distelrath, the Wildcats’ throwers have demonstrated consistent improvement throughout their seasons and performed best in championship competition. In 2023, Distelrath coached the Eastern Independent League champion in the discus throw, and in 2024, her throwers secured eight points in the discus and recorded six personal bests at the league championship. Distelrath also coached two throwers to the 2024 NEPSTA Championship, including an eighth grader who placed ninth overall in the discus. Since Distelrath joined the cross country/track & field staff, Winsor has won two EIL track & field championships and three EIL cross country championships.  Distelrath has also served as the head curling coach at Winsor since 2022.
 
Distelrath ran cross country and track & field at Eastern Michigan University, where she was a part of six conference championship-winning teams and finished as high as 15th at the Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championship. She twice finished in the top 70 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship and earned Academic All-MAC honors while receiving her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Distelrath also holds a USATF Level 1 certification and a Master’s degree in Sports Psychology from Pennsylvania Western University in California, PA.
