Natalie Giraldi enters her second year as an assistant swimming and diving coach under head coach Michael Prout, Jr. A former Simmons Shark herself, Giraldi brings a wealth of experience of being a student-athlete at Simmons to her coaching today.

In her first year as an assistant coach in 2023-2024, Giraldi helped guide the Sharks to a second-place finish at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship Meet. Additionally, she helped Carli Quinlan ’26 become the first Simmons swimmer, since Aine Scholand, to earn the GNAC Swimmer of the Year after capturing seven individual event titles, including setting a new GNAC Meet mark in the 200-yard freestyle.

Giraldi began her coaching career with the premier Commonwealth Swim Club, as an undergraduate and continued working with them well into her full-time career in employee benefits. Away from her coaching duties, she works as the Senior Well-being Specialist at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky, and Popeo, P.C. managing the well-being initiatives as a part of the firm’s benefit offerings..Â

As a student, Giraldi was an exceptional student-athlete, excelling both in the pool and classroom receiving the 2018 Student-Athlete of the Year Award. She holds individual program records (50 breast, 100 breast, 100 IM, 400 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay) and won four GNAC team championship. In addition, she also has three individual event titles in both the 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke.

Outside of coaching and her day-to-day responsibilities, Giraldi enjoys running the streets of Greater Boston with the Cambridge Running Club, skiing with friends and baking. She graduated from Simmons with a Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science.
