MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – Senior forwards Sydney Gonyea and Anna Tedeschi were two of 181 student-athletes from 75 Division III institutions named to the 2024 NFHCA Watchlist announced Thursday afternoon.
It is the second consecutive year Gonyea was named to the NFHCA Watchlist, while a first time for Tedeschi. Last season, Gonyea found herself ranked amongst the top-five Division III leaders in assists per game as she tallied 16 on the season, while her fellow classmate had a breakout season offensively. Tedeschi led the Sharks in 2023 finding the back of the cage.
This list is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams. To be nominated for the 2024 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-American, All-Conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National or International Team roster) and the student-athlete's head coach must be an active NFHCA member.
