Finn Spearheads Shark Attack On Mariners

BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons University Lacrosse welcomed the Mariners from Mitchell College on Marathon Monday where the Sharks took care of business in the 22-7 victory.

How It Happened
  • Mitchell went ahead early, but the Sharks regrouped as Leah Finn knotted up the scoreboard at 2-2. Shortly after, Sophia Gill gave Simmons the edge until Mitchell tied it up once again. Bridget McNamara had the final say in the opening quarter to make it 4-3 going into the second.
  • Simmons used four different goal-scorers to stretch its lead to 11-4 at halftime.
  • The Sharks continued to spread the ball around during the six-goal third quarter (17-6) to earn running clock.
  • Midway through the fourth quarter, first year player Jeslyn San scored her first collegiate goal before coming right back late in the frame to score another as the Sharks continued to cruise to the dominant win.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Leah Finn scored a career-high seven goals this evening.
  • Rookies, Sophia Gill and Jeslyn San each booked their first multi-goal games.
  • Everett Garner registered a season-high six points.
  • The Sharks hit the road for their regular-season finale as they travel to Franklin, Mass. to play Dean College on Wednesday, April 22.
