HOPKINTON, N.H. – Simmons cross country closed out the fall season with exceptional performances at the NCAA East Regionals on Saturday morning.
After garnering All-GNAC second team honors, first-year
Wanda Cirillo continued to improve on the course, crossing the finish line with a time of 26:11.27 – the second-best finish at an NCAA Regional in program history. Eighteen seconds later, fellow first-year
Matina Billante clocked a personal-best time of 26:32.68. The pair had the fourth and sixth best finishes by a Simmons runner at an East Regional.
Sophomores
Hannah Bergeron and
Julia Pellegrino registered personal-bests, crossing the finish line with time of 26:54.46 and 28:30.70, respectively. Senior runner
Sofia Girioni also clocked a personal-best fourth meet in a row with a time of 27:24.27.
