BOSSTON – Simmons swimming and diving (3-4) picked up Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) double dual meet win following victories over Regis College (185-53) and Elms College (193-32) on Friday evening.
The Sharks began the meet strong taking first place in the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet of
Camelia Hannah,
Bee Eckels,
Chaelin Humphrey and
Carli Quinlan posted a time of 2:01.45, while the B squad finished second with a time of 2:08.76.
Junior captain
Carli Quinlan continued her dominance in the pool with a pair of first place finishes the 200-yard freestyle and 50-yard butterfly. The Haverhill, Massachusetts native posted a time of 2:00.36 in the 200 free before swimming away with the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 27.61.
Sophomore
Bee Eckels cut two seconds from her top-collegiate best, touching the wall with a time of a 1:07.48 in the 100-yard IM. Fellow sophomore
Anna Kelly clipped six seconds off her season-best time in the 1000-yard freestyle, touching the wall with a time of 12:28.87 to earn first place.
Senior captain
Camelia Hannah claimed first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:07.73. Sophomore Isabel Barry Ruiz and first-year
Julia Long also registered first place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke, respectively.
