BOSTON, Mass. – As announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) today, Simmons University's Cross Country's
Jaden Johnson earned her spot on the All-Conference First Team after a standout weekend against the entire conference. Additionally,
Beth Pennington was honored on the GNAC Sportsmanship Team.
Johnson ran her way to the GNAC Runner Up this past weekend at the Conference Championships hosted by Norwich University. Johnson's time of 24:09.40 was a personal record for the sophomore, improving her time by an unheard of two minutes from her previous 6k time in late September. Most notably, Johnson's runner up medal marks the best finish by a Simmons University Shark student-athlete at the league championship since 1995.
Next up for the Sharks is the NCAA Regional Meet to wrap up the cross country season on Saturday, November 15.
