CONTOOCOOK, N.H. – The Simmons University Cross Country team concluded its 2025 today, competing against the strongest programs in the region at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship held at the Hopkinton Fair Grounds.
The Sharks delivered an impressive collective performance, just two weeks after competing at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship with all five runners recording either a season-best or career-best time.
By The Numbers
- Hannah Bergeron led the Sharks with a standout run, clocking a personal-best 26:44.8 for her second sub-27 minute 6k of the season.
- Cierra Hoyt continued her breakthrough first-year campaign, finishing in 26:58.3, which was a personal best that improved upon her GNAC Championship time and marked a two-minute drop from her collegiate 6k debut on September 20.
- Reagan Miller posted a time of 29:20.0, cutting 26 seconds from her performance at the GNAC Championship two weeks ago.
- Senior runner, Beth Pennington closed out her collegiate cross country career on a high note with a career-best time of 31:26.6, surpassing her previous season mark by 34 seconds.
- Julia Pellegrino rounded out the results for Simmons with a strong 31:32.7, finishing 13 seconds faster than her time at the conference championship on November 2.
The meet brings the Sharks' 2025 cross country season to an end, as the team shifts its focus to the upcoming indoor track & field campaign beginning on December 6.
