Lacrosse Concludes 2025 Campaign Falling to Colby-Sawyer in GNAC Tournament

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Simmons University women's lacrosse team concluded their 2025 season with an 18–3 loss to Colby-Sawyer College in the GNAC Play-In Game on Thursday evening.

Senior attacker Frida Turriza led the Sharks with all three of Simmons' goals, showcasing her offensive prowess in her final collegiate game. Despite her efforts, Simmons faced a formidable Colby-Sawyer offense, with Heather Hanson scoring five goals and Soph Kuhlthau adding four. The Chargers established an early lead, scoring six unanswered goals before Turriza's first goal at 2:12 in the first quarter. Colby-Sawyer continued their dominance, leading 13–2 at halftime.

Simmons' goalkeeper, Anya Younie, made 12 saves on 30 shots on goal, striving to keep the Sharks competitive. However, the Chargers' offensive pressure proved overwhelming. The Sharks concluded their season with a 7–9 overall record and a 6–6 mark in GNAC play.

This game marked the end of the collegiate careers for several Simmons seniors, including Turriza, whose leadership and scoring ability were evident throughout the season.?
