BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons University Tennis welcomed the Bears of Bridgewater State University (BSU) today in non-conference play where the visitors slid past the Sharks, 4-3.
How It Happened
- The Sharks were victorious on the No. 1 doubles court thanks to Masha Shutts and Amoli Vad, but the Bears claimed the overall doubles point with wins in No. 2 and No. 3 action.
- In singles, Shutts made quick work of her No. 1 opponent, 6-0, 6-0 for the first win in singles. BSU was able to secure wins in No. 6 and No. 5 action to regain the slight edge, 3-1. Then, Vad (6-3, 6-2) and Emilie Lapointe (6-4, 6-1) earned wins to lock up the scoreboard at 3-3. However, the Bears sealed the deal with a battle in No. 4 action to take the 4-3 win over the Sharks.
