Boston, Mass. – After capturing the 2025 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship and earning a trip to the NCAA Tournament last season, the Simmons University women's tennis team enters this weekend's NAC Championship Tournament as the top seed and favorite to repeat.
The Sharks have been nearly unstoppable all season, posting a 12-1 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark in conference play. Since dropping their season opener, Simmons has rattled off 12 straight victories and has not lost since.
Simmons secured the No. 1 seed after finishing atop the conference standings and will be joined in Portland by No. 2 Husson University, No. 3 Thomas College, and No. 4 Lesley University.
The two-day tournament will be held at the Apex Racket & Fitness Center in Portland, Maine. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, with the championship match set for Sunday, Oct. 11.
The Sharks will open tournament play against fourth-seeded Lesley University at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Simmons defeated the Lynx, 7-0, during the regular season and enters the postseason having won every conference match by a score of 7-0.
On the opposite side of the bracket, Husson and Thomas will square off in the other semifinal at 2:30 p.m.
A victory on Saturday would send Simmons into Sunday's championship match at 1:00 p.m. with the winner earning the NAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship in the spring.
