NEW ORLEANS, La. – Simmons University Track & Field was recognized by the a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as recipients of the All-Academic Team, as announced by the organization this week.

In order to qualify for All-Academic honors, teams must post a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other criteria.

The Sharks far surpassed the 3.1 threshold, boasting a 3.49 GPA this semester. 

Simmons, along with St. Joseph's College (Maine) were the only two programs to represent the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) on All-Academic Team list.
