BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Simmons University Sharks welcomed the Suffolk University Rams to Daly Field today where the Sharks took care of business before the rain came in, 7-0.
How It Happened
- Masha Shutts and Amoli Vad kicked the victories off on the No. 1 doubles court as the duo blanked their opponents, 6-0. Victoria McCrann and Grace Burke's win secured the doubles point for the home team with their 6-1 win in No. 3 action. Making it a clean sweep was Emma Parsons and Emilie Lapointe who defeated their No. 2 counterparts, 6-2.
- Ivy Cote and Parsons both won by identical scores of 6-1, 6-0 on their respective courts, setting up the next victory to seal the deal for the Sharks. Vad answered the call with her 6-0, 6-1 win on the No. 3 court to clinch the overall victory. Despite the match already decided, Burke, Shutts, and Parsons preserved the shutout for their second straight 7-0 win.
Simmons remains at Daly as they play host to the Albertus Magnus College Falcons on Wednesday, September 9 with a 4 p.m. start time.
