BEVERLY, Mass. -- Simmons volleyball fell to the Smith College Pioneers 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-16) in the final match of the MIT Women's Volleyball Invitational at Endicott College Saturday afternoon.

Simmons freshman Raeann Nesta (Niantic, Conn.) hit .360 to lead the Sharks offense with 10 kills and only one error on 25 attempts. Chanel Thomas (Phoenix, AZ) and Nafeesa Connolly (Natick, Mass.) anchored the Sharks defense with 10 and seven kills, respectively.

The Sharks return to action on Tuesday, September 25th when they open Great Northeast Athletic Conference play against Emerson College at 7:00 p.m.
