BOSTON – Simmons volleyball (8-11, 6-2 GNAC) split Saturday afternoon's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match with Regis College (16-6, 8-2 GNAC) and Mitchell (College (6-13, 2-6 GNAC).
MATCH 2: Simmons 3, Mitchell 0
In their second match of the day, the Sharks hit a solid .375 as a team, tallying 36 kills on 72 attempts with just nine errors. Graduate senior Zoë Chatterton posted a .412 attack percentage as she led the Sharks with nine kills on 17 attempts and just two miscues, while sophomore
Hannah Pridgeon followed up with eight kills.

Megan McNamara was outstanding for the Sharks offensively. In addition to tallying five kills on 10 attempts with one error to hit .400, McNamara registered a career single-game best seven aces against the Mariners. Classmate, senior

MATCH 1: Regis 3, Simmons 2
The Sharks came out of the gate strong in the first match of the day, taking the first set, 25-17, but the Pride responded, edging out the Sharks in the second and third sets to take the 2-1 lead.
Simmons showed their resilience and answered with a 5-2 run to send the match to a deciding fifth game. Momentum appeared to have swung over to the Sharks bench as they jumped out to a 6-1 lead to force the Pride to call their first timeout.
Coming out of the break, the Pride clawed their way back into the game registering five unanswered points. Regis kept the momentum on their side, holding on to take the fifth set, 15-13.
SIMMONS HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Hannah Pridgeon hit .328 from the floor to lead the Sharks with 29 kills on 27 attempts and just seven errors in two matches.
- Senior Megan McNamara recorded a career single-game high seven aces against Mitchell College and finished the day with seven.
- Graduate senior Zoë Chatterton followed up with 21 kills on 62 attempts.
- Senior Meghan Doxsee was outstanding defensively with 10 total blocks on the day – eight assisted and two solo.
