BRIGHTON, Mass. - The Sharks finished off their season with a convincing 3-1 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win on senior night over the Mitchell Mariners under the lights at Daly Field on Wednesday night.
The Sharks wasted no time in this one, as First year
Peyton Renzi got Simmons on the board early with a header into the bottom right corner of the net. That was not all for the Sharks in the first half though, as sophomore midfielder
Lauren Krupnikoff was able to beautifully wrap a corner kick into the back of the net, propelling the team to a 2-0 advantage early on.
The Mariners responded before the first half finished, finding the back of the net for their lone goal of the night to cut the deficit to just one. The Sharks were able to regroup in the locker room, and extend the lead back to two not long into the second half as graduate senior
Cerys Balmer deflected a corner kick from Krupnikoff into the net.
The rest of the game the Sharks were in cruise control as they dominated time of possession and kept the ball out of their defensive end. When the 90th minute had come and gone, the Sharks were victorious, ending their season on a high note.
