BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons tennis (8-5) closed out the fall regular season with a two-match win streaking following a 7-0 win over Lesley University (7-4) on Wednesday afternoon.
The Sharks came out of the gate strong, claiming the doubles point with a sweep. Sophomore
Emma Parsons and junior
Laura Lowe blanked Ariane Ramos and Tali-Anna Sutherland, 6-0, to get the day started. Moments later, senior
Julia Perconti and
Amoli Vad edged out Mary Osucha and Lucy Boyce in second doubles, 6-3, before first-year
Masha Shutts and sophomore
Emilie Lapointe took first doubles, 6-1.
In the singles portion of the competition, Perconti earned her third win of the season with a two-set, 6-0, 6-0, win over Sutherland. Fellow senior
Emily Lopez followed up blanking Ramos in two-sets in fifth singles, 6-0, 6-0.
First-year
Amoli Vad earned the win in third singles defeating Boyce, 6-1, 6-1, while sophomore
Emilie Lapointe claimed second singles. First-year
Masha Shutts rounded out the Sharks eighth win of the year with a two-set, 6-3, 6-3, win over Osucha in first singles.
