PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The 2024 season came to a close for Simmons field hockey (18-3) in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) falling to Johnson & Wales University (18-3) in the Championship Game on Saturday afternoon.

Zoe Schmaling to find the back of the cage to take a 1-0 lead. Three minutes later, Schmaling scored her fourth goal against the Wildcats knocking in a pass from senior
Anna Tedeschi to give Simmons the two goal-lead.
However, the Wildcats clawed their way back. They cut the deficit in half, 2-1 heading into the second quarter before scoring the equalizer 47 seconds into the second period. Just before the first half ended, Johnson & Wales took their first lead of the game which they would not relinquish. They added an insurance goal in the 31
st minute.
