BOSTON – Returning to the track for just their second indoor meet ever, Simmons indoor track excelled at the 2024 Mini Meet held at Boston University registering multiple personal-best marks on Saturday morning.
In the weight throw, sophomore
Agnessa Lysenko finished placed second with a personal-best mark of 11.93 meters. It was nearly two tenths better than her mark a week ago at the New Balance Early Bird Invitational.
First-year runner
Wanda Cirillo registered a personal-best time in the mile, clocking a time of 5:43.58 and is currently second in the conference in the mile. Cirillo and Lysenko were two of multiple Sharks to record personal-best marks.
Sophomore
Hannah Bergeron and senior
Matina Billante also saw their personal-best mile times come down, clocking times of 6:01.97 and 6:12.94, respectively. Finishing ninth In the 200-meter, junior
Zoe Schmaling posted a personal-best time of 27.88, while three other Sharks also notched personal-bests.
Debby Perez (28.94),
Piper Rickman (29.17) and
Trinity Williamson (30.74) recorded personal-bests in the race.
Sophomore
Katie Repoli also notched personal-best in the 800-meter, posting a time of 3:07.93.
