WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Simmons tennis (2-4, 0-2 GNAC) was edged out by the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (4-2, 2-0 GNAC), 5-4, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match on Saturday afternoon.

Masha Shutts picked up their fifth doubles win as partners defeating Olivia Santoro and Maddie Rossetti, 8-4. But the Blue Jays were able to take doubles, 2-1, winning second and third doubles.
In the singles portion of the competition, the Sharks made a valiant comeback, earning three singles wins. Shutts defeated Santoro in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 10-3, while Lapointe took second singles from Rossetti. From the sixth spot in the line-up, sophomore
Grace Burke earned third and final singles win with a three-set, 7-5, 4-6, 11-9 win over Gia Alvarez.
