NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Simmons volleyball (4-8, 2-0 GNAC) opened Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action with a pair of 3-0 victories over Norwich University and Albertus Magnus College on Saturday afternoon.
MATCH 1: SIMMONS 3, NORWICH 0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-12)
In their first match of the day, the Sharks made quick work of the Cadets needing only three sets to earn their first conference win of the season. Sophomore outside hitter
Hannah Pridgeon continued her consistent play all season, leading the offense with eight kills, while also tallying seven digs.

Alicia Beatty paced the offense with 16 assists along with her sister, graduate senior
April Beatty, who notched 12 assists and also posted eight kills. Sophomore libero
Carolina Rodriguez was the defensive anchor, registering 20 digs.
MATCH 2: SIMMONS 3, ALBERTUS MAGNUS 0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-22)
The Sharks offensive momentum rolled into their second match against Albertus Magnus College. Hitting a staggering .345 as a team in the first set, Simmons used the firepower to cruise to another three-set win on the afternoon.
Pridgeon was a once again the offense, notching her fourth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 10 digs. Graduate senior Zoë Chatterton followed up posting a .318 attack percentage with 11 kills on 22 attempts with just four miscues, while sophomore
Alicia Beatty paced the offense with 20 assists.
SIMMONS HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Alicia Beatty registered 36 assists against Norwich and Albertus Magnus, including notching 20 set assists for the second time this season.
- Graduate senior Zoë Chatterton posted a .333 attack percentage against the Cadets and Falcons, tallying 17 kills on 39 attempts and just four errors.
- Sophomore Hannah Pridgeon hit .364 and led the Sharks with 20 kills on 44 attempts and only four errors.
