STANDISH, Maine – The No. 7-seeded Simmons University Sharks traveled up north to take on the No. 2-ranked Saint Joseph's College (SJC) Monks in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Quarterfinals. How It Happened
- The Monks immediately tested the Simmons' defense in the opening quarter, firing off six shots (five on target), but keeper Haley Bright made her presence know, not allowing SJC to get on the board.
- In the second, Bright and the Sharks' back line remained poised, fending off four shots and defending themselves on a pair of corners to keep the scoreboard 0-0 at halftime.
- Simmons kicked off the third strong with a penalty corner and a shot on goal, however the home team roared back to put a three spot on the board to hold the 3-0 lead going into the fourth.
- SJC tacked on two more in the final frame to claim the victory.
