FULL GNAC RELEASE

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Carli Quinlan of Simmons University Swimming captured the squad's first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly award (Swimmer of the Week) after a stellar weekend in the pool.

Quinlan opened up the meet against the Westfield State Owls in the 200 yard medley relay where the quad of Laura Luthi, Julia Long, Quinlan and Bee Eckels orchestrated a first place finish. Then individually, the senior secured the top spot in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.58. Later in the meet, Quinlan was the first swimmer to touch the wall in the 50 yard butterfly thanks to a time of 27.28. Finally, Quinlan closed out the afternoon along with teammates Luthi, Chaelin Humphrey and Isabel Barry-Ruiz to earn second in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

Quinlan and the rest of the Sharks look ahead to Friday, November 7 as they square off against Smith College on the road.
