CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Simmons University Swimming and Diving wrapped up the final day of the MIT Invite, competing for the third straight day against a deep nine-team field that included MIT, Tufts, Hamilton, Middlebury, RPI, Wellesley, Emory, and Denison.
By the Numbers
- In the 200 medley relay, the 'A' relay of Laura Luthi, Julia Long, Carli Quinlan, and Bee Eckels clocked a 1:59.86, while the 'B' relay of Ainsley Horan, Charlotte Doherty, Anna Kelly, and Isabel Barry-Ruiz finished in 2:06.43.
- In the 500 yard freestyle, Kelly battled through a long heat and posted a 5:43.25, which marked a new personal best by three seconds.
- Senior Quinlan turned in another strong sprint effort in the 100 yard butterfly, finishing in 59.73.
- Quinlan returned in the 100 yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 54.40.
- In the 200 yard breaststroke, Simmons placed three swimmers in the event final: Eckels (2:46.24), Doherty (2:47.20), and Long (2:48.79), finishing in that order.
The Sharks return to Holmes Sports Center on January 10 to host the Mount Holyoke Lyons.
