KISSIMMEE, Fla - Simmons softball opened the 2025 softball season splitting two games in the Sunshine State against Clark University and Chatham University on Sunday afternoon.

GAME 1: Clark 3, Simmons 2
Although the Sharks struck first in the first game of the season. Simmons lost against Clark University with a score of 3-2 in a tightly contested softball game. Junior Teagan Buckley went two-for-three with both RBIs of the game, a sacrifice fly to center and single up the middle that put the sharks ahead for the second time in the game. Despite early offensive bursts from both teams, it was ultimately a pivotal walk with bases loaded for Clark in the bottom 6th that took the win.

GAME 2: Simmons 3, Chatham 2
Simmons continued their first day of The Spring Games with a strong victory against Chatham University, with a come-from-behind, 3-2, victory. Junior right-hander Ally Hyde secured her first win of the season, striking out eight batters.

Fellow junior Emery Kreidel-Reimer cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the fourth, scoring on a a base hit to left field off the bat of senior Raya Anderson. The Sharks tied up the game and took the lead an inning later.

Junior Emily Deleault tied up the game, scoring on a ground out to the right side of th infield. Moments later, first-year Zoe Soule ripped an opposite field double into right centerfield to plate Berdeen to take the 3-2 lead and never looked back.

SIMMONS HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Ally Hyde secured her first win tossing a complete game in a 3-2 over Chatham allowing two unearned runs on four hits, while striking out eight.
- Senior Leah Berdeen went two-for-five against Chatham with a triple and a RBI
- Junior Piper Kinney went two-for-three with a run scored against Clark in the first game of the day.
- First-year Zoe Soule picked up her first collegiate RBI with a game-winning RBI double against Chatham.
