PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Simmons University lacrosse team faced a challenging match-up against Johnson & Wales University (JWU) in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference opener.

JWU dominated the game from the outset, leading 4-0 after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 9-0 by halftime. Simmons' sole goal came early in the third quarter when Abby Mountain scored off an assist from Frida Turriza. However, JWU continued their offensive pressure, adding eight more goals to secure the win.

Key contributors for JWU included Madeleine Gould with seven goals, Mila Kuilan with three, and both Izzy Babb and Neely Connor adding two each.

Simmons will look to regroup as they prepare for their next match up against Gordon College on March 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Daly Field Athletic Complex
