BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons lacrosse (5-7, 4-5 GNAC) secured the 12-8 victory over New England College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) North Division action on Wednesday evening.
The Sharks established an early lead, with senior
Frida Turriza scoring the opening goal at 9:30 in the first quarter. Despite NEC briefly taking a 2–1 lead, Simmons responded with two quick goals from senior
Layla Drinkwater, ending the first quarter ahead 3-2.
In the second quarter, the Sharks extended their lead with a six-goal run, including two more goals from Turriza and two from first-year
Everett Garner. By halftime, Simmons led by a score of 9-3.
Returning to the field at the start of the second half, Simmons added two more goals, one from Turriza and another from senior
Kat Wood, bringing the score to 11–3. They carried the momentum into the fourth quarter where they staved off a late NEC comeback.
Junior
Leah Finn added the final goal for the Sharks burying a pass from Turriza into the back of the net to propel Simmons the victory.

- Senior Frida Turriza led the way with six goals and one assist for seven points.
- Fellow senior Layla Drinkwater added two goals, while tying a career single-game high forcing five turnovers.
- First-year Everett Garner added a pair of goals and one assist for three points.
