CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Simmons outdoor track and field program participated in the 2025 Sean Collier Invitational hosted by MIT on the 12-year anniversary of the search for the Boston Marathon attackers on Saturday afternoon.
The Sharks performed exceptionally well. In the sprint events,
Isatu Fofanah headlined Simmons' performance in the 100-meter dash, finishing 19th overall in a field of over 40 runners with a time of 13.40.
Teammates
Jayla James (24th, 13.81),
Macaela Stanislas (27th, 13.83), and
Carolyn Dorman (30th, 14.00) all posted competitive marks. Fofanah and Stanislas also contributed to Simmons' 4x100 meter relay squad, joined by Dorman and
Debby Perez, which placed seventh with a time of 53.92.
In the 200 meters,
Debby Perez clocked 28.03 to lead Simmons, finishing 22nd overall. Dorman (30th, 28.68), Stanislas (31st, 28.84), and
Trinity Williamson (34th, 30.15) round out the Sharks in the event.
Middle Distance Depth:
Wanda Cirillo delivered the top Simmons time in the 800 meters, placing 22nd in 2:32.97.
Reagan Miller (38th, 3:17.79) and
Beth Pennington (41st, 3:23.07) also competed in the event for Simmons.
In the 1500-meter run, first-year
Sofia Girioni ran a solid 5:53.60 to take 40th place among 46 competitors.
Hurdles
Jayla James returned to action in the 100-meter hurdles, placing 19th with a time of 17.86.
Throws:
Sophomore
Agnessa Lysenko impressed in the hammer throw, earning a top-20 finish with a mark of 35.94 meters.
SIMMONS HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 400-meter dash, Williamson again represented Simmons, finishing 28th in 1:12.63.

Simmons returns to the track next weekend with the two-day GNAC Championship Meet held on the campus of Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
