STANDISH, Maine – Sophomore
Agnessa Lysenko is your 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Champion in the hammer throw as Simmons outdoor track and field competing in the 2025 GNAC Championship Meet this past weekend.
On the second day of the two-day meet, Lysenko took first place in the hammer throw. The Brighton, Massachusetts native recorded a personal-best of 39.52 meters to secure first place.
In the 100-meter dash preliminaries, first-year sprinter
Isatu Fofanah led the Simmons contingent, clocking a time of 13.46 seconds to place ninth overall. Close behind were teammates
Macaela Stanislas (13.73),
Carolyn Dorman (14.01), and
Debby Perez (14.29), all demonstrating the team's depth in sprint events.
The 4x100-meter relay team, comprising Fofanah, Stanislas, Zoe Schmaling, and Perez, delivered a strong performance, finishing with a time of 54.06 seconds.
In the 800 meters,
Wanda Cirillo led the Sharks with a time of 2:36.04 to finish sixth. Senior
Sofia Girioni represented Simmons in the 10,000 meters, placing fifth with a time of 44:37.48.
Jayla James competed in the 100-meter hurdles, recording a time of 18.52.
