BRIGHTON, Mass. – Returning to their home court this afternoon, Simmons University Tennis hosted the Rams of nearby Suffolk University at Daly Field where the Sharks overpowered the Rams, 6-1.
How It Happened
- The No. 1 doubles partners of Masha Shutts and Amoli Vad set the tone for the day with a 6-2 win. Then, Emilie Lapointe and Emma Parsons followed suit on the No. 2 court (6-4) to seal the overall point. However, Grace Burke and Katelyn Bruce made it a clean sweep with a 7-5 victory on the third court.
- Lapointe and Vad breezed through their singles matches to set up teammate Parsons for match point. The veteran came in clutch with a 6-1, 6-3 win to seal the deal for the home team. Despite the match already in hand, Shutts and Laura Lowe rounded out the remaining victories for Simmons.
