WATERVILLE, Maine – As announced by the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) this afternoon, Simmons University's
Emilie Lapointe and
Emma Parsons were both recognized by the NAC for their outstanding performance on the tennis court this past week. Lapointe was named the NAC Player of the Week, while Parsons as well as her partner Lapointe secured the first ever NAC Doubles Team of the Week recognition.Â
Both Lapointe and Parsons were dominant in all three of the Sharks' wins this week, including two victories in conference action. The duo teamed up to win No. 2 doubles against Suffolk, 6-4 on Wednesday, before doubling up Thomas College and Husson University in the No.1 position over the weekend (6-3).
Adding more stats to her player of the week winnings, Lapointe had a clean sheet in No. 2 singles against the Rams, before moving up to the No. 1 slot to come away with a pair of identical wins (6-1, 6-2) on the weekend against the Terriers and Eagles.
The Sharks return to their home courts on Wednesday, September 17 to host Lesley as they continue NAC play.Â
