NASHUA, N.H. – Simmons University Volleyball had a quick turnaround after last night's home match as they traveled up to the Granite State this morning for a conference contest against their hosts, the Rivier University Raiders. In a tight battle early, the Raiders pulled away to take the 3-0 sweep.

How It Happened

• A Madeline Flanagan kill made it 7-2 for the Sharks to kick off the opening frame. Shortly after, the Raiders used a 5-0 run to take a 10-8 lead. From there, Rivier held onto the advantage, despite the Sharks coming within one after a Hannah Pridgeon ace (20-19), as the home team came away with the 25-21 win.
• Both sides traded early leads before a back-and-forth battle began at 14-all. Nine tied scores followed, forcing extra points to decide a winner after the teams were knotted at 25-25. Rivier capitalized on a pair of Shark errors to secure the final points and take the set, 27-25.
• In the third, Mia LeBrun's kill brought the score to 10-10, but the home team went on a run to secure the sweep, taking the third set, 25-14.

Beyond The Box Score

• Carolina Rodriguez has now reached 1,500 career digs with her 16 this afternoon.
• The Sharks continue league play as they travel to Newton, Mass., on Wednesday, October 4, to take on the Lasell University Lasers.
