Sharks Claim First Win Of The Season In Statement 13-4 Win Over Pride

BRIGHTON, Mass. – After a week of rescheduled games, Simmons University Lacrosse played host to the Regis College Pride this evening at Daly where the Sharks defended their home turf in a comfortable 13-4 win.

How It Happened
  • Leah Finn and Lauren Krupnikoff were automatic in the opening quarter, as Finn notched the first tally off of an assist from Krupnikoff en route to a 4-0 advantage for the home team.
  • Krupnikoff found the back of the net again in the second to widen the gap to 5-0 at halftime.
  • Coming out of the locker room, Bridget McNamara tacked on another before Regis halted the run to make it a 6-1 game with 12:38 to go in the third. Everett Garner and Emily Horn joined in on the scoring spree to command an 8-2 lead going into the final 15 minutes.
  • Simmons started off hot offensively once again in the fourth, scoring two quick goals before being interrupted by a Regis tally (10-3). The Sharks poured on three more to earn a running clock before the Pride scored with 14 ticks left to bring the scoreboard to 13-4.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Everett Garner has now surpassed the 100 draw control threshold with her six tonight.
  • Leah Finn booked a career-high three goals.
  • Lauren Krupnikoff registered career-highs in both goals (three) and assists (four) tonight.
  • Bridget McNamara secured her second multi-goal game.
  • Emily Horn has scored two or more goals in every game this season and now has two four-goal games.
