BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Simmons University Lacrosse team took on the Blue Jays of the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on a brisk evening on Daly Field tonight where the visitors defeated the Sharks, 14-9.

How It Happened

  • USJ picked up where the left off to net the opening two goals in the second and take their first lead of the evening, 4-3. Evertt Garner found Bridget McNamara who fired one into the back netting to knot it up at 4-4. The visitors added a pair before the end of the half to lead 6-4 at the break.
  • Both sides traded goals early in the third to maintain the two-goal cushion until USJ slowly began to creep away to go on top, 10-6 by the end of the third.
  • Horn and Lauren Krupnikoff each rattled in shots to bring the deficit back to just two goals early in the fourth (10-8). However, the Blue Jays regrouped to hold off the Sharks to claim the eventual win.
