GNAC RELEASE

WINTHROP, Mass. – In what seems to be a reoccurring Monday tradition, Simmons University Softball's Piper Kinney earned the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week honor for the sixth time this season.

Kinney went the distance in the Sharks' first game of the week this past Saturday, going 5.0 innings against the Rivier University Raiders on their home field. During the outing, Kinney struck out five, allowing just three hits, and no earned runs in the 11-1 victory. Then, the senior came into the circle in relief in game two, pitching the final four innings en route to a 4-3 win where she struck out six and gave up just one hit. 

The Sharks look ahead to Friday, April 24 as they host the Colby-Sawyer Chargers starting at 5 p.m. at Daly Field.
