Pride Top Sharks, 3-1, In GNAC Match-Up

WESTON, Mass. – Simmons University Soccer traveled to nearby Regis College to play the Pride in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play where the Pride defeated the Sharks, 3-1.

How It Happened
  • In the 25th minute, the Pride found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. Regis continued to apply pressure and added another goal before halftime to carry a 2-0 advantage into the break.
  • The Pride struck again less than 10 minutes into the second half, extending their lead to 3-0.
  • Simmons continued to battle until the final whistle and broke through in the final minute. Brianna Peña shot rattled the crossbar, but the rebound fell to Angelina Tenore, who tucked the ball past a diving keeper to make it a 3-1 final.

  • First-year Brianna Peña recorded her first collegiate assist while Angelina Tenore netted her first collegiate goal.
  • Simmons returns to Daly Field this week as they host Emmanuel College on Wednesday, September 16.
