BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons University Tennis welcomed the Beacons of UMass Boston to Daly Field today where the Sharks sent them off with a 4-3 victory in non-conference action.
How It Happened
- In doubles, despite a loss on the No. 1 court, the Sharks won the overall point thanks to a 6-2 victory from the hands of Ivy Cote and Victoria McCrann (No. 3), then by Emilie Lapointe and Emma Parsons with a score of 6-4.
- Amoli Vad secured the initial win in singles, besting her No. 3 counterpart, 6-1, 6-1. Then, senior Lapointe rolled to a 6-0, 6-2, victory, giving the Sharks the 3-1 advantage. Reigning North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week, Victoria McCrann clinched the match for the home team with her dominant 6-1, 6-2 win on the No. 6 court.
Simmons has a quick turnaround as they play once again tomorrow as they host the Albertus Magnus College Falcons at 5 p.m. at Daly.
