WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Simmons University Tennis returned to the courts this afternoon and bounced back in a big way, defeating the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), 7-0.

How It Happened

• The Sharks secured the doubles point with wins on all three courts. First-year duo Victoria McCrann and Ivy Cote posted a dominant 6-0 victory at No. 3 doubles, while Emilie Lapointe and Emma Parsons earned a win at No. 2 and Masha Shutts and Amoli Vad were victorious at No. 1.
• Simmons continued its momentum in singles play, winning all six matches. Vad clinched the team victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles.
• Grace Burke (6-2, 6-0), Cote (6-2, 6-0), and McCrann (6-4, 6-3) completed the sweep with straight-set victories.

The Sharks play their first home match on Saturday, September 5 at 12 p.m. to host the Suffolk University Rams.
