BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons soccer (3-8-3, 3-7-3 GNAC) got back into the win column with a 1-0 shutout over Regis College (7-7-3, 5-4-3 GNAC) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Tuesday evening.

Cerys Balmer in front of the net to give the Sharks the 1-0 lead.
Simmons threatened to add to their lead, nearly connecting off a corner kick in the 36
th minute but was unable to convert as the Sharks took the one-goal lead into halftime.
When the teams returned to the pitch at the start of the second half, the Sharks came out stroke firing off three straight shots within the first eight minutes. With under a minute to play in the contest, the Pride threatened to score the equalizer after earning a corner. But the Sharks defensive, anchored by first-year goalkeeper
Deanna Wild, came up and kept the Pride off the board.
SIMMONS HIGHLIGHTS
- Graduate senior Cerys Balmer registered her team-leading 11th goal of the season in the 17th minute.
- Sophomore Lauren Krupnikoff connected with Balmer for her sixth assist on the season.
- First-year goalkeeper Deanna Wild earned her first victory of her collegiate career playing all 90 minutes.
