PAXTON, Mass. – Simmons soccer (3-8-5, 3-7-5 GNAC) battled back to a 2-2 stalemate against Anna Maria College (1-10-6, 1-8-6 GNAC) late Saturay afternoon.
The Sharks found themselves trailing early after two quick Amcat goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. Momentum began to swing over the Shark bench at the start of the second half.
Simmons looked poised to score early in the second half. Graduate senior
Cerys Balmer fired a shot on net off a corner kick from first-year Eleni Marques de Costa, but Amcat goalkeeper Kortney Clark came up with the save. Moments later, junior
Kayla Noonan rocketed shot on goal that was reject.
The Sharks offense remained hot and finally broke through midway through the period. Balmer cut the deficit in half in the 74
th minute, then with two minutes remaining in the game, connected with sophomore
Grace Nostrant to register the equalizer.

- Graduate senior Cerys Balmer notched a goal and an assist for three points on the day.
- Sophomore Grace Nostrant scored the equalizer in the 87th minute.
- First-year goalkeeper Cecelia Yee played the final 45 minutes in net register one save to earn the tie.
