NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Simmons University Sharks hit the road this afternoon for a game against non-conference opponent UMass Dartmouth where the home team defeated the Sharks, 3-0.

How It Happened

• A pair of aces from Emily Ibarra tied up the game and put the Sharks ahead midway through the opening frame. However, a 9-1 run aided the Corsairs shortly after to close it out 25-15.
• In the second, the Sharks continued to rally after the home team went on a short run to keep it a two-three point game. After Addison Evans gave Simmons their 19th point, the Corsairs fought off the visitors to score the final three points (25-19).
• Simmons controlled the tempo of the third before the Corsairs started to chip away as four tie scores late in the frame allowed the home team to finish it off, 25-20.
